OUR STORY

Town raised, turned horse trainer

Hello! My name is Emily McDaniel and I am the trainer at Double E Horse Training. I am 18 years old and live in the small town of Prineville, Oregon. I have been riding ever since I was nine, and trained my first horse when I was 16. However, I had a harder start than most. I didn't grow up on a ranch and I currently reside only one-mile out of town. But I always made it a priority to ride. I have worked for multiple training barns since I was 14 and have ridden many different disciplines. I have ridden Western and English equitation, pleasure, trail, reining, cutting, cow horse and gaming!

Working with horses has always been a passion of mine and just recently I have gone out on my own to create Double E Horse Training. I am also looking forward to representing the Crooked River Roundup as their 2020, 75th Anniversary Rodeo Queen!

About Double E Horse Training

Double E Horse Training is owned and run by Emily McDaniel. The goal of Double E Horse Training is to create solid, quality, versatile horses that will do anything you ask of them, with a willing attitude. Strengths include ground work and colt starting with an increasing knowledge of teaching the technical work needed for the show pen. This encompasses collection, stops, spins, lead changes, lead departures and so much more.

Double E Horse Training also likes to take advantage of fun events. Whether that is helping out at the county fair, taking the horses swimming in a local reservoir or going on trail rides to let the horses decompress. We provide a well rounded training experience that is sure to prepare your horse for anything you may want to do in the future.

Ranger is a 16 year old BLM Mustang from Nevada. He is owned by Kitty and Rick Lauman, but I have had the privilege of riding him for the past three years. This horse has so much heart. While he can be an energetic handful, he will give you everything he's got and then a little bit more. Speed is his middle name, he loves to have his bellybutton scratched.

Dally is my 4 year old American Quarter Horse. I have had her since August 2019 and have done all of her training under saddle. She is currently learning how to execute flying lead changes. My long term goal for Dally is to compete in local reined cow horse shows and help her become the amazing horse I know she will be. Dally is loaded with personality and attitude, and I am excited to share her training progress with you!

Indy

Pictures to come

Indy is a 5 year old American Quarter Horse, buckskin paint gelding. He is also owned by Kitty and Rick Lauman. I started him as a three year old and since then he has been turned out into the field and only ridden on occasion. However when Ranger got hurt and I was out of a horse, I needed something for the 2020 rodeo queen year. Indy was the perfect candidate! We have been continuing into some more technical training maneuvers and he is currently working on collection. I am excited to travel and ride this big guy this summer.
